If for any reason you would like to return an item ordered from Peapod Jewelry, except for a piece bought on sale, please return it in its original condition within 30 days for a full credit card refund. If you received the item as a gift we are happy to exchange it for another Peapod Jewelry product.

Our rings are made to be worn every day.

Our designer, Ronna Lugosch, prefers to make comfortable low-profile rings with gemstones or diamonds set in a bezel. These are more difficult to construct than prong setting because the setting must be created to fit the stone exactly. But the result is a longer-lasting piece of jewelry that offers more protection for the stone.

In the unlikely event that, with normal wear, a gemstone or diamond falls out and is lost within the first year of purchase, we will replace it at no charge.

We recommend that you have rings cleaned and checked once a year. We’re happy to do it at no charge if you’re in the area and stop at our gallery.

To clean diamonds, use a mild solution of 6 parts water to 1 part ammonia, and apply with a brush with very soft bristles.

We guarantee all our mountings.

If a defect in any mounting is found within the first year after purchase, we will repair or replace it at no charge.

Peapod Jewelry Diamond Warranty

Peapod Jewelry purchases diamonds from only reputable stone dealers. We guarantee that the diamond you buy from our gallery is accurately represented as to its clarity, color, cut, and carat weight. At your request, we are happy to select diamonds with a written certification.

With normal wear and regular care, your diamond jewelry will remain beautiful throughout its lifetime.

In the unlikely event that with normal wear a diamond falls out and is lost within the first year of purchase, we will replace it at no charge.

Should the stone chip within the first year; we will re-cut and reset it at no charge.

Locking Ear Wires

Peapod Jewelry earring designs are available only in locking styles. We live in Maine, where it’s cold much of the year, and we’ve seen that simple fishhook earrings are easily lost when you remove sweaters and scarves. All our wire-style earrings lock with lever backs or secure into the body of the earring. Our stud earrings are secured by earring backs.

Magnetic Chain Clasps

For a small additional fee we are happy to replace the spring rings and lobster claws on chains with easy-to-use magnetic clasps.

Protecting Your Jewelry

Some chemicals, chlorine in particular, will damage gold or sterling silver. A non-diamond gemstone can chip, break or crack if it is subjected to a sharp blow. Even a diamond can chip, break, or crack if it is subjected to a sharp blow or otherwise abused.

We recommend removing your jewelry before participating in sports, yard work, housework, or crafts, and before using a hot tub or swimming pool.

Repairing and sizing can loosen stones.

Please don't let anyone but us repair the jewelry or size the ring you bought from Peapod Jewelry. We cannot guarantee to replace lost stones if the work is done elsewhere.
