When may I phone to order jewelry?

We're available to take your call Monday through Saturday 10am. to 5pm. Outside of those hours, please leave us a message and we'll call you back.

Will I pay sales tax when I buy from Peapod Jewelry?

Our home gallery is in Maine, so Peapod Jewelry is required by law to charge sales tax for all orders shipped within Maine for all our gallery, Internet, and phone orders.

Are all items in stock?

We stock most of the designs. But we're a small studio, and our pieces are made by hand, one at a time, so we occasionally run out of a piece. If we don't have your choice in stock, we'll call or e-mail you within 24 hours to give you a shipping date.

When and how will my order be shipped?

If the design is in stock, we ship within 48 hours. For each address within the United States, the following charges apply for orders placed through our website:

May I return a piece I purchased from Peapod Jewelry?

If for any reason you would like to return an item ordered from Peapod Jewelry, except for a piece bought on sale, please return it in its original condition within 30 days for a full credit card refund. If you received the item as a gift we are happy to exchange it for another Peapod Jewelry product.

Are prices affected by fluctuations of precious metals and gemstones?

Yes. These prices are apt to fluctuate, so our prices are subject to change.

Can I order a customized peapod pendant to represent birth months?

We will customize a Mother's Peapod for you. Put the words Mother's Peapod into our search feature to see the sample pendants. Then click on the pendant that holds the number of pearls you prefer. When that product comes up, click on the blue box that says Customize Colors. There you will see our chart of birthpearls. Call us or email us with your selection.

I want to buy a ring. How do I know what size to order?

The best way to determine your ring size is to have a jeweler do it. Most jewelers will do it at no charge. If you're ordering a ring as a gift and you don't want to spoil the surprise, locate one of the recipient's rings and take it to a jeweler who can tell you what size it is. Or you can use our sizing guidelines. Contact us if you have any questions about how to use the guidelines. When you purchase from us, we size your ring at no charge.

What if the ring I buy is the wrong size?

When you buy a ring, we size it for free. We charge for later sizing of the same ring. If you can bring your ring to our gallery, some sizing can be done while you wait, or it might take several days depending upon the ring style and the amount the ring needs to be sized. Sizing can loosen stones. Please have your Peapod Jewelry ring sized here. We guarantee our own work. We cannot guarantee to replace lost stones if the work is done somewhere else.

I live far away. How can I get my ring to you?

If you need to mail us your ring, include your ring size. Follow our sizing guidelines to determine the correct size. Pack your ring surrounded by bubble wrap or the equivalent in a strong box. Enclose your name and address and how we can reach you by phone or email. We recommend that you ship via U.S. Postal Service or UPS with insurance. Insure the ring for at least what you paid for it. Will my purchase arrive gift wrapped?

All orders arrive gift boxed with a satin ribbon. We also include a card insert about Ronna and her designs. If it is a gift let us know, we are happy to provide a note card you can fill out.

May I order a Peapod Jewelry gift card?

Yes, we can do that over the phone. Call us Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Outside of those hours, leave us a message and we'll call you back.

Do you repair Peapod Jewelry?

Should you find a defect in your jewelry within the first year after purchase, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you. If your piece from Peapod Jewelry needs repairs later, please don't let anyone but us repair it. We guarantee our own work. We cannot guarantee to replace lost stones if the work is done somewhere else.

We guarantee all our mountings

If a defect in any mounting is found within the first year after purchase, we will repair or replace it at no charge. In the unlikely event that, with normal wear, a gemstone or diamond falls out and is lost within the first year of purchase, we will replace it at no charge. We recommend that you have rings cleaned and checked once a year. We're happy to do it at no charge if you're in the area and stop at our gallery.

Repairing and sizing can loosen stones

Please don't let anyone but us repair the jewelry or size the ring you bought from Peapod Jewelry. We cannot guarantee the replacement of lost stones at no charge if the work is done elsewhere. To help avoid the necessity for re-sizing your ring, please follow our sizing guidelines when you order a ring.

Peapod jewelry diamond warranty

Peapod Jewelry purchases diamonds from only reputable stone dealers. We guarantee that the diamond you buy from our gallery is accurately represented as to its clarity, color, cut, and carat weight. At your request, we are happy to select diamonds with a written certification. With normal wear and regular care, your diamond jewelry will remain beautiful throughout its lifetime. In the unlikely event that with normal wear a diamond falls out and is lost within the first year of purchase, we will replace it at no charge. Should the stone chip within the first year, we will re-cut and reset it at no charge.


JEWELRY CARE

Protecting your jewelry

Some chemicals, chlorine in particular, will damage gold or sterling silver. A non-diamond gemstone can chip, break or crack if it is subjected to a sharp blow. Even a diamond can chip, break, or crack if it is subjected to a sharp blow or otherwise abused. We recommend removing your jewelry before participating in sports, yard work, housework, or crafts, and before using a hot tub or swimming pool. Have your rings cleaned and checked once a year. We're happy to do it at no charge if you're in the area and stop at our gallery.

Cleaning your jewelry

We ship a complimentary 100% cotton polishing cloth with each order which can be used on gold, platinum or silver jewelry. Follow the directions provided with the cloth. To clean diamonds, use a mild solution of 6 parts water to 1 part ammonia and apply with a very soft bristle brush. If you're nearby and can stop in at our gallery, we're happy to clean your Peapod Jewelry at no charge.
