What does peapod jewelry, or pea in a pod jewelry mean?

Our peas are either custom-dyed freshwater pearls called Birthpearls®, 14k gold, silver, seaglass, or real gemstones such as amethyst, garnet, aquamarine, etc. At Peapod Jewelry® we give our customers the opportunity to sit on the designer bench and personalize their own pea in pod jewelry to symbolize motherhood, memorialize a loved one, celebrate a birth month, and more.

What is the difference between vermeil and 14k gold?

Our vermeil is a durable 14k gold electroplated over a base layer of Sterling Silver. Our 14k gold pieces are made from real gold. Vermeil offers a more financially friendly option for gold lovers. However, because it is gold-plated, it can wear off over time or with machine polishing.

Mother’s Peapod® Earrings

Mother’s Peapod® earring designs are available in sterling silver, vermeil (heavy gold plate over sterling silver) or 14k gold and can be customized with 1 to 8 Birthpearls®.
